Seventh Grade ELA
Seventh grade ELA will follow the Missouri State Standards adopted in April 2016 (See link below). The main resource being used will be HMH "Into Literature". Students will have a consumable textbook as well as online access to all materials.
Reading skills that will be covered are; plot, inferences, character traits, figurative language, theme, mood, tone, author's purpose, and text structure.
The types of literature we will be reading are; poetry, realistic fiction, short stories, myths, science fiction, memoirs, as well as many different types of nonfiction.
The types of writing we will be composing are; narrative, argumentative, informational, poetry, and research
We will be incorporating vocabulary skills and grammar throughout each lesson.
