Eighth Grade Social Studies
Eighth grade social studies will follow the Missouri State Standards adopted in April 2016. The main resource being used will be HMH "United States History Beginnings to 1877". Students will have a textbook as well as online access to all materials.
Eighth grade social studies starts with the study of Native Americans and moves through the English colonies and the American Revolution.
Students will also learn how our government was formed with an emphasis on the Constitution.
Westward expansion is next which will lead into the Civil War, slavery, and reconstruction.
